The Westwood Fire Company and mutual aid were dispatched to assist the Modena Fire Company with a large brush fire in the 1000 block of Laurel Road in Newlin Township. Initial units arrived on scene at 14:03 hours and found a rapidly spreading woods fire and requested additional resources to the scene which summoned Engine 44-5, Tac 44 and ATV 44.

Westwood firefighters operated on scene for just over four hours before being released by command. Westwood provided water to the scene on Laurel Road at the east side of the fire, and resources at the west side of the fire which was accessed from Strasburg Road.
