On Saturday January 4th, 2025 at 14:46, the Westwood Fire Company was dispatched to the 300 block of Doe Run Road in East Fallowfield Township for a vehicle fire. Engine 44-5, MICU 44-1 and Deputy Chief Scott all made an immediate response to this emergency. The caller reported to 911 smoke and flames coming from the underneath of a vehicle.
Modena Chief Corle arrived at 14:52 reporting a vehicle well involved. Engine 44-5 arrived at 14:53 and blocked the roadway. Firefighters deployed a hose line from the front bumper and extinguished the fire. After the flames were knocked down, the vehicle hood and dash were opened up using hand tools to expose all areas that were involved with flames.
The fire was placed under control at 14:58 with all hands working. The cause of the fire is under investigation by the East Fallowfield Fire Marshal's Office. All units cleared the scene at 15:26, where they returned to station to pack on clean hose and equipment, refill air cylinders and refill the tanker with water to prepare for the next emergency.
