Westwood Firefighters and Paramedics were summoned to the 700 block of West Kings Highway, in West Caln Township, Thursday in the very early morning for a garage fire. Calls to 911 indicated a detached garage on fire approximately 24' x 40' in size. The fire was confirmed to be working by the first arriving units.
Battalion Chief Sly reported the structure to be involved in flames, but not fully involved. Wagontown Engine 35 arrived first due and went into suppression mode, protecting the exposures and darkening the flames. Additional units provided water to the scene through the clapper, like Engine 44-5 and Tanker 35.
The fire was under control not long after arrival with all hands working. MICU 144 and Engine 44-5 responded on the assignment, as well as (3) Chief Officers. There were no injuries reported at the time of the blaze.
