At 8:00 AM the Westwood Fire Company began providing Advanced Life Support (ALS) paramedic services out of our main station on Valley Road in Valley Township. This advancement in service provides Western Chester County with additional paramedic services that are in high demand. With this expansion, we are able to make the most effective medications and medical equipment available to the communities we serve via the highly skilled paramedics and EMTs we employ.
This project has been in the works for well over a year and now matches our Wagontown Ambulance Division as the highest level of care available in Western Chester County. We are very proud to be able to offer the services to the residents we serve.
We would like to thank our municipal partners at Valley and East Fallowfield townships for giving us the ability to provide the services to the community. These services will be available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Our ALS model will consist of MICU transport units as well as paramedic intercept units.
Additionally, as of 6:00 AM this morning, our Wagontown Ambulance Division’s MICU 244 has moved into its new permanent station located at the West Brandywine Township complex. This move will provide better access to the residents of West Brandywine, West Caln, and Wallace townships to the top-notch emergency medical care in tandem with our MICU which is stationed at the Wagontown Fire Company on West Kings Highway.
MICU 244 has been stationed for the past year at the Glen Moore Fire Company in Wallace Township while renovations at the new station were being completed.
We would like to thank our municipal partners of West Brandywine, West Caln and Wallace Townships for making this move possible. We would also like to thank our colleagues at the Glen Moore Fire Company for being gracious hosts of our unit for the past year, which helped ensure seamless and high-quality emergency medical care to area residents. |
