Furnace Malfunction in Westwood

On Monday, November 14th, 2011 the Westwood Fire Company was dispatched at 1215 to the unit block of Grove Avenue for a smoke investigation. Information given by the Chester County 911 Center was "smoke coming from the basement".

Rescue 44 and Ambulance 44 both responded within minutes of dispatch. Upon arrival, the Rescue crew quickly determined the source of the smoke to be coming from the furnace.

Crews disconnected power to the furnace and set up negative pressure ventilation to clear the smoke from the residence.

After quick ventilation and clean-up, all units cleared the scene at 1238.
