On Saturday September 18, 2010 the Westwood Fire Company was invited to the Springbrook Homeowners Association Block Party. This is an annual event were Families of the Springbrook Developement gather for activites and a cookout. Chief Scott, Captain Deckman and Fire Prevention Coordinator Kimberly Mattson arrived with Rescue 44. Children and adults had the opportunity to tour the Rescue, speak to our staff, receive fire prevention materials and participate in a 30 minute Fire Safety lecture given by Fire Prevention Coordinator Mattson and Chief Scott. Also in attendance was Emergency Management Coordinator Joe Sciandra, who also gave a lecture regarding Evacuation/Disaster Planning. We would like to thank the Homeowners Association for inviting us and hope to return next year.
