This evening at 18:46, the Westwood Fire Company and mutual aid were dispatched to the unit block of Short Drive in East Fallowfield Township for a house on fire.

Deputy 44 arrived to find a working fire and requested a second alarm adding the possibility of entrapment due to cars in the driveway but nobody around the house.

Engine 44-5 arrived first due at 18:51 and placed multiple hose lines in service, knocking down the rear exterior fire then moving in through the front door to access division 1 and 2 which were both consumed by flames. Firefighters also conducted a search of the home and did not locate anybody inside.

Additional units arrived and crews worked to extinguish the fire and ventilate the structure. The fire was placed under control at 19:33 with all hands working.

One of our firefighters was injured at the scene and was transported to a hospital for further evaluation.
