Ambulance Stands By After Tornado Event in White Horse

On February 24th, 2016 at 2053 the Westwood Fire Company EMS Division was dispatched to relocate an Ambulance to the White Horse Fire Company in Lancaster County. Tragically a tornado had pass through the Village of White Horse in Lancaster County and the local emergency resources were out sifting through the rubble.

Ambulance 44-1 and Wagontown Rescue 35 were simultaneously dispatched to stand by for Station 49. While on standby Ambulance 44-1 responded to one residential rescue in the 5800 block of Wanner Road. No services were required at that incident and Ambulance 44-1 returned to Station 49 to stand by.

The tornado, categorized as an F-2, caused over $8 million dollars in damage to the area. Thankfully no major injuries or fatalities were reported.
