Electrical Fire on Timacula Road
Email Print RSS Facebook Twitter RSS

By Assistant Fire Chief Adam Grossman
January 5, 2019

An outlet burst into flames Saturday morning which summoned area fire companies to a house in the unit block of Timacula Road in East Fallowfield Township. The Westwood, Sadsburyville, Modena and Cochranville Fire Companies were also dispatched for the call.

The call came in at 0751 by an occupant of the structure and by 0759 Engine 44-5 was first arriving. When firefighters arrived they found a long driveway with a bridge at the beginning. Due to the weight of Engine 44-5, Chief McWilliams instructed Engine 31-1 to take the driveway when they arrived.

Deputy Chief Scott established the Timacula Road Command and advised of a two story farm house with nothing showing. Upon investigation there was found to be an electrical outlet in the laundry room on fire. Firefighters extinguished the fire and secured power to the outlet.

Additional units were held on Timacula Road and later realeased once the situation was placed under control. The cause of the fire is under investigation.

Units: Engine 44-5, Ambulance 44-1

Mutual Aid: Station 31, Station 37, Station 27
