At 1535 the Westwood Fire Company was dispatched to the Westbound Route 30 Bypass at mile marker 269.7 for an auto accident reported serious. Also dispatched was the Wagontown Fire Company, Ambulance 144 and Medic 93.
Battalion Chief Sly arrived at 1541 an established Bypass Command reporting one subject injured and confined inside of their vehicle. Wagontown Rescue 35 arrived at 1542 and went in service with hydraulic rescue tools to open the car for patient packaging. A total side removal of the passenger side was completed to remove the victim from the car. Westwood Rescue 44 arrived at 1547 and assisted with extrication.
EMS units from Westwood treated one patient and transported to a local hospital for further evaluation. Westwood and Wagontown Fire cleared the scene at 1616. Utility 35 assisted with traffic control until the vehicle was removed from the roadway by Fling's towing.
